A naturally occurring and significant variation in the body weight of FATZO offspring enables these mice to be identified as low, mid and high body weight groups. This publication investigated whether the onset and severity of type 2 diabetes in FATZO mice was dependent on their initial weight and whether criteria could be established to optimize studies of diabetes.
