The award recognizes Crown Bioscience's integrated antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) research and development platform, which combines complementary patient-derived models, molecular characterization, and functional testing to address the complexities of ADC development.
Successful ADC development requires a comprehensive understanding of target expression, heterogeneity, efficacy evaluation, payload activity, pharmacokinetic behavior, and the mechanisms that influence treatment response and resistance. Crown Bioscience's ADC platform addresses these challenges through an integrated end-to-end approach that connects in vitro and in vivo research with molecular characterization, biomarker analysis, and DMPK profiling. By combining paired patient-derived organoid (PDO) and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models, researchers can evaluate ADC performance across biologically related systems that are clinically more representative of the patient tumor.
The platform draws on a portfolio of more than 2,800 PDX models and 1,000 organoid models, across 35 cancer types, supported by tumor-associated antigen profiling, multiomics characterization, and standard-of-care benchmarking data. Additional capabilities, including high-content imaging, drug and payload screening, mouse clinical trials, and resistance modeling, help researchers investigate ADC mechanisms of action, identify potential biomarkers and combination strategies, and prioritize candidates for further development.
"This award recognizes our commitment to advancing preclinical research for next-generation oncology therapies," said John Gu, Chief Executive Officer of Crown Bioscience. "By combining clinically relevant models with molecular and functional data, and ADC expertise with AI-enabled analysis, we help our customers generate stronger evidence and make more confident decisions as they advance ADC programs through key stages of development."
The BioTech Breakthrough Awards recognize innovation across the global life sciences and biotechnology industries, highlighting companies, products, and services advancing research and development.
