This research describes a study aimed at demonstrating the ability to measure tumor cell killing including checkpoint inhibition in the 3D Ex Vivo Patient Tissue platform using HCI in patient samples from multiple cancer indications.

Extensive biomarker characterization and extended flow panels were analysed to provide more granular immune profiling.

The 3D Ex Vivo Patient Tissue platform combines short-term 3D ex vivo tumor culture systems from fresh human material with high content imaging analysis. The platform preserves the innate tumor microenvironment, including resident immune cells, and thus allows immunological testing in ‘close-to-patient’ scenario.
