Update to JSR Response to COVID-19

To All JSR and JSR Group Company Employees:

As has been widely, reported the Corona Virus continues to spread and the number of countries with significant numbers of infections has jumped dramatically including areas of Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa. We are also seeing a substantial increase in infections within Japan, along with inconsistent and unpredictable changes in immigration policy around the world. Several countries, including Israel and Thailand, are restricting access of travelers from Japan (as well as China and South Korea), and some customers are also restricting access. In the US, the CDC (Center for Disease Control) has updated its travel notice for Japan, elevating it to Level 2 (as well as Iran and Italy): Sustained Community Transmission—Special Precautions for High-Risk Travelers. China and South Korea remain at Warning Level 3. Specifically, older adults and those with chronic medical conditions should consider postponing nonessential travel, and travelers should avoid contact with sick people.

Based on this difficult environment we are now requiring that ALL international business travel be preapproved by the executive manager for each business division or by Tim Lowery or me. Domestic business travel and vacation travel should still be managed locally but consistent with the BCP committee’s guidelines.
基于目前艰难的处境,我们现在要求所有的国际商务旅行都要由各个业务部门的执行经理或Tim Lowery或我预先批准。国内商务旅行和度假旅行仍应受当地管理,但应符合BCP委员会的指导方针。

We will continue to provide regular updates. For those interested, here is the latest information on infection rates globally provided by the World Health Organization.

The BCP committee is meeting regularly to monitor the situation and to ensure that we take prudent and rational steps to protect our employees and families, as well as our customers and partners. If you feel you need support please do not hesitate to reach out to us through your management.

Thank you for your continued support and vigilance.

Eric Johnson
CEO of JSR Corp.
